A Truth about Fear

Fear will never go away as long as you are growing!

So true, even growing in pregnancy. Today I celebrated the 11th birthday of my beautiful daughter Cassidy. She certainly gave both her Dad and I a scare when I experienced complications four and a half months prior to her due date. Each day thereafter I feared for her and myself as I waited in bed day after day trying to relax and prayed she would stay put for another four months.  Not only did I struggle with the fear of losing her I also struggled with making a huge adjusted going from a very healthy active business women in charge of managing a Bank branch to being waited on hand and foot and not allowed to do anything, except eat porridge and toast for breakfast watching 7th Heaven day after day.

I was born a worry wort so keeping my mind occupied with positive thoughts was very important. This was a very big struggle with so much time on my hands. Finally several months later, many trips in and out of emergency Cassidy decided to be born six weeks early. She came fast and furious, tiny but healthy.

We both recovered from our experiences of feeling such a deep fear but we survived and moved on to other fears. The key is  know that no matter what fear you experience "You Can Handle It".

We handled it. Maybe not very gracefully at the time but we learned from it and enjoy each day we have as a family.

Happy Birthday Cassidy! We love you very much, thank you for showing us that no matter what happens we/I can handle it. Soon it will be you becoming a teenager. Stay tuned.
